Working with vendors who work with you, helping you to create your dream wedding is what can help you have a beautiful and amazing day. Here at The Historic Pinecrest, we know that it takes a lot of work and planning to achieve your dream wedding day, and we're in it for the long haul to help you. Here are a few reasons you will love working with us and having your wedding in our event center in Colorado Springs.

Plenty of Space

Our venue event center is a great place to host your wedding or any other event because we have so much space. Our large open floor plan allows you to get out and bust a move on the dance floor or set up tables and chairs for an amazing dining experience. You can let the festivities begin with ample space because our venue can hold up to 225 guests. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime with all of your family and friends.

A Room With A View

The Historic Pinecrest event center is ideal for any event because we have a stage at the front of the room. You can place your head tables on the stage and have a great view of your guests, or you can utilize this staging area for many different types of events. Are you hosting a speaking event? Our venue is ideal for the large stage at the front and plenty of room to place chairs side by side conference style. Do you have a private school or homeschool group that needs to host a graduation? Our venue is perfect for that as well! Make use of our stage for many different types of events!

Perfect For Any Season or Decor

While our event center has a distinct rustic decor, it can be styled in any way, shape, or form. We have had many brides with many different styles come in and make this space their own through table decor, lights, and props. If you've booked your wedding with us, we would love to invite you to a Bridal Open House anytime between now and your wedding. We host them once a month, and not only is this a great time to meet some of our amazing vendors around the area, you can also bring many of your decorations and see how they would look at our venue. You can take measurements and really start to see your big day unfold!

Many Amenities

When you book your event at our event center in Colorado Springs you will always get unlimited phone, email, and texting support, with access to communicating directly with our owners, Jess and Maria. You can get private tours of our facilities that you can schedule throughout the week as well. We also provide an event manager to assist your caterer to cut your wedding cake and a digital sound system with mixing board to provide the entertainment to MC your reception. Finally, our staff performs the clean-up and tear-down at the end of the event, so you don't have to worry about it!

When your wedding countdown is starting to get into the 100-day mark, the excitement becomes more real than ever - but so does your to-do list. Decorations, food, accessories, timelines, and linens oh my! Hopefully, you have already secured your Colorado Springs wedding venue but if you still have so many things to do, we can help. At Historic Pinecrest, we are here to help you plan all of these never-ending details, and help make your wedding a moment to remember.

We would like to formally invite you and your future spouse, family, and friends at our Bridal Open House! This event is a perfect way to start narrowing down on details and vendors when planning your wedding. Here are some great reasons you should attend.

Explore the Venue

When you booked your Colorado Springs wedding, hopefully, you had a chance to tour the venue and see how beautiful it is in person - but if you didn't, this is your chance! You can walk through all of our facilities and see where your bridal party can get ready in the dressing rooms, pretend to walk down the aisle, and even practice your first dance in our Colorado Springs event center. If you did tour our venue when you booked your wedding, there's a chance that everything was so new, exciting, and such a whirlwind, that a second look would really help you wrap up decorations and plans for the day. This is a wonderful chance to explore our venue and fall in love with it all over again.

Meet our Staff

Chance are, you've got lots of questions that you didn't have when you first booked your wedding. From ceremony packages, details about the venue, and even just some ideas on decor or planning. We would love to take this time to talk with you and assist you with anything you may need. Our Bridal Open House is a wonderful opportunity to once again meet our staff, and learn more about the people who are so excited to help you with your wedding.

Learn About Great Vendors

We don't make this Bridal Open House just about us, we also want to make sure that you have everything you need to plan your wedding, from bakers to florists and everything in between. We invite many vendors from the area who can show you their work, and even help you get that last needed vendor checked off your list! You can expect to see anyone from photographers, DJ's, florists, bakers and more at our Bridal Open House, and they would love to answer your questions!

Test Your Decor In Our Chapel

This is one of the highlights of the Bridal Open House - you can test out your decor, or ours in our facilities! If you want to use a special aisle runner, candles or floral arrangement in your ceremony, but aren't sure that there will be room for it, now is your time bring it and find out!

The same goes for our event center as well. If you would like to test our your table arrangements, linens, and more, now is your time to do that. We also provide our linens to help make it easier to test our your decorations and table arrangements.

Fall In Love With Eachother AND This Venue All Over Again!

Last Minute Graduation Party Planning Tips!

You thought you had months, and next thing you know, your baby is graduating, and you have to plan the party ASAP. Never fear, because Historic Pinecrest is here! At Historic Pinecrest, we can help you host wonderful events, from weddings to graduations, and our Colorado Springs event center is perfect for any number of guests. With a few easy steps and tips, you can put together a wonderful celebration that will look like it took months, and you can celebrate your child's big accomplishments.

Plan Your Menu

If you're in a crunch, save yourself some time and outsource the food for your event, and outsource as much as possible. From the appetizers to the cake, find some wonderful vendors in the area and find out if they will have time to put something together before your event. Sometimes, we feel pressured to throw an event that is "Pinterest worthy," but really, the whole event is about celebrating the new stage of life that your child is entering, and no one will notice if you didn't slave over the custom graduation cap appetizers.

Choose an Event Venue

If you are wanting to save yourself some added stress, you can find a venue to host your event so that you won't have to get your home "company clean." At Historic Pinecrest, we have a large event center, as well as a smaller lodge where you can gather with close friends and family to celebrate this great time of your child's life. If you wait too long, you may have to be flexible on the date and time of your event, but your best bet will be choosing an evening in the middle of the week. Fewer events are scheduled at this time, so you won't have as much competition.

Get Party Decorations

This step doesn't have to be intimidating. Choose one large statement piece, and then fill in with items of interest. You can use a large photo of your child, you can use a map with a pin in the place where they'll be attending college or even a large collage of photos of them throughout the year. You can fill in with easy pieces that you can pick up at your local party planning store, like tassels, caps, 2016 paraphernalia, and even awards and photos from your child's high school career.

Grab Some Fun Games

Every party needs some fun entertainment! If you have any of your child's favorite board or card games you can spread those around the area so that people can sit down and enjoy themselves. If it's going to be a beautiful day, you can put some fun outdoor games on our porch, or around the grass. Think of games like the bean bag toss game, giant Jenga, or even Twister!

Take the Stress Away with the Best Event Venue in Colorado Springs

At Historic Pinecrest, we realize how busy life can get, and before you know it you need you throw a fun graduation bash. Our Colorado Springs venue is perfect for any size gathering, and we look forward to helping you and your family gather together over such a fun celebration! Give us a call at 719-357-8613 today to learn what dates you can schedule your Colorado Springs graduation party.

7 Special Ways to Repurpose Your Wedding Dress

In the past, it has been common for a daughter to wear her mother's wedding dress when she gets married. Where did this tradition come from? Unfortunately, the internet didn't divulge much information, but there are plenty of speculations as to why this was such an important tradition. Perhaps, years ago, it was a way of saving money, if you already had a beautiful dress, why not re-use it? Alternitively, it can be extremely sentimental, and a great way to cherish history. In fact, you can find many brides who are wearing the same dress from many generations past.  Our last thought is that maybe it was meant to be your "something old."

No matter how the tradition got started, it is not a common practice today, and many brides choose to purchase their own wedding dress. If you want to include the sentimentality of your mother's dress in your wedding, or create something special for your own daughter someday, and don't know where to start, you can use these ideas when planning your Colorado Springs wedding at Historic Pinecrest!

Create a Christening Dress

This is becoming a popular idea among many brides who will be christening their child. You can hire a seamstress through online businesses like Etsy, or a local seamstress, to create this masterpiece for you. While it may feel like a large leap to let someone cut up your dress, it will be a special piece you can save for years to come. You can even frame the small dress years after your daughter grows out of it, and use it for her daughter when the time comes.

Take Photos Of Your Baby Girl With Your Dress

Another popular way to save the memory of your dress is to do a photo shoot of your baby with your dress. It will perfectly embody "something old, something new," and can be a sweet keepsake if or when you get ride of your dress.

Donate Your Dress

There are many organizations who accept wedding dress donations. They can be used for bride's who can't afford a dress of their own or auctioned off at a bridal event to support a special cause. This would be a great way to know that your dress has been a special memory for someone else as well.

Embellish Your Daughter's Bouquet

You can use pieces of satin, tulle, lace, and buttons to embellish your daughter's bouquet at her own wedding. This would be a special way to incorporate your wedding dress into your daughter's special day, without her having to wear your dress. Many women don't wear their mother's dress, due to sizing issues, style perferences or even years of age making the entirety of the dress unusable, but pieces are still salvageable.

Play Dress Up and Take Photos with Your Daughter

Create a special memory with your daughter and play dress up with your dress! This will be a moment she will never forget. You can do her makeup and hair, let her wear your shoes and jewelry and top it off by letting her wear your dress. Don't forget to commemorate this day with photos!

Make a Necklace

This would be a lovely way to wear your mother's dress at your wedding and accomplish your "something old, something new." By using pieces from the wedding decor, the dress, and having names and dates engraved on the back of the necklace, this can make a very special piece that you'll wear for years to come. You can also do this with your own dress, especially if you have several daughters. It would be a significant way to give them each a piece of your dress. You can create a piece like this with supplies from a craft shop, or you can find many craftsmen on Etsy who can create this for you.

Do a Photo Shoot With Your Friends

After your group of friends get married, you can do a fun photo shoot to commemorate the day and the dress. Spend the day getting dressed up like you did years before on your wedding day, and do a fun photo shoot in a location that is either significant to all of you, or someplace entirely new that you can come back to years later.

Celebrate Your Wedding in Colorado Springs

While you may spend months looking for the perfect wedding gown, isn't doesn't take long to find the perfect wedding venue in Colorado Springs. Our venue is complete with a breathtaking mountain chapel, large event center, and we even have a lodge that can hold up to 20 guests. Testimonial Tuesday

We had our daughter's wedding at Pinecrest on October 10th, 2015 Not only was it a beautiful day for a wedding but the Chapel, Event Center, Lodge (the Bridal party all stayed together and had a blast) and Pinecrest staff/vendors made their day beautiful!!! It was the perfect Colorado wedding... We especially loved the rustic wood, Evergreen, and Aspen setting. Everyone couldn't stop commenting on the wonderful venue we had found!!! Thank you, Maria and your wonderful staff!!!
~Becky Ribble

Ribble/Orr Wedding
Go and be prepared to experience a wonderful adventure... the setting is amazing in the winter (haven't been there for other seasons), all the rooms are very accommodating (including the kitchen), and we found the staff to be very helpful, enjoyable and accommodating.
~Teka Foster

As a photographer, this venue is one you want to return to over and over! The owners, the coordinator & DJ are simply amazing! Not to mention so many different options for amazing pictures....I would HIGHLY recommend!! Photography by Cristy

Matt & Rachel Cline
We just had our wedding here the owners and the employees are so wonderful! We recommend The Pinecrest to everyone! It's so beautiful, the perfect place to celebrate the most special day of your life! Thank you
~Matt & Rachel Cline

I just don't know where to start..or what words to use! Awesome, amazing, beautiful, perfect - these are just some words that come to mind. We had our wedding at The Historic Pinecrest and from first viewing the venue to the actual event itself, everything was PERFECT. The owners, Jess & Maria, treated us like family the minute we met them. They took the time to get to know us and find out what we were looking for to make our day perfect. The other people on the staff were just as nice and accommodating. I realize this is their business so at some point I expected things to become "business-like", but that never happened. Every interaction we had was like speaking with friends. This venue is not only beautiful, but the people who work there are just as beautiful.

Family Reunions at the Historic Pinecrest

The Historic Pinecrest is a wonderful place to plan your next family reunion! The cozy, intimate setting of our beautiful Colorado venue will make the perfect spot to enjoy times with your family. We have two venues that would be ideal for your family reunion, so whether you have a small group of people gathering, or all of great grandpa's decedents, we can fit you all comfortably for a great event.

The Lodge

Pinecrest Lodge is perfect for a smaller family reunion. It can sleep 20 people, making it ideal for families who want to spend extended time together. The lodge features 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, with a full-service kitchen and Wi-Fi. There are two levels to the building, with a family room/living room on each level, as well as fireplaces where you can curl up and tell stories about family history. In any season, a family reunion at The Historic Pinecrest would be perfect!

The Event Center

This gorgeous event center is an amazing room to host your large family reunion in Colorado. It can accommodate 225 people, and has a great stage area for fun games, or speeches from members of the family. The hardwood floors make for a fun spot to watch Great Aunt Grace do the electric slide, and the buffet area in the back is perfect for providing ample food and drinks for the family.

5 Ways to Host An Amazing Family Reunion

1. Start Planning Early
The earlier you get the date on the calendar, the more members of your family will be able to make it. In fact, having a date and location set one year in advance is acceptable and desirable, especially if you'll be planning this event for the busy summer months.

2. Have A Committee
There is nothing wrong with spreading the planning around to the whole family. In fact, everyone may be more invested in the event when they've had a part in planning it. You know your family's skills like no one else, so naturally you'll know that certain family members should be in charge of planning games while others are ideal for setting the budget.

3. Include Fun Games, Contests & Activities
From the traditional sack races to a weight loss contest, there are many ways you can keep everyone busy and having fun. Be sure to plan these out in advance to keep from having those moments when everyone is sitting around staring at each other wondering what to do next. You can also plan your whole family reunion around a specific event as well. If you decide to have a weight loss contest leading up to the reunion, you can close the event out with a local 5K walk/run and celebrate the achievements of everyone!

4. Choose a Theme
Giving your family reunion a theme can help you stay on task for the planning. Your decorations, activities and food can reflect that theme. If you decide to celebrate "Back to Our Roots", you can have trivia games about family history, choose foods that were made by your ancestors and their culture, and decorate using old photos and historical items. This theme would certainly get the conversations started and keep them going for the whole event!

5. Don't Forget To Have Fun
There's no time greater than sitting back with aunts, uncles, and cousins to swap stories of old and look forward to the future. Get your planning done in advance so that you can enjoy the special moments that a family reunion can bring.

Plan A Holiday Party at Pinecrest!

Christmas is almost here! Pinecrest Event Center has one of the most beautiful and scenic venues to hold your Christmas party in Colorado. From the magnificent mountain setting to our warm and welcoming event center you will have a Christmas party that everyone will always remember. Our perfect location will set the mood for your Holiday spirit with the beautiful mountains, cedar trees, and maybe even snow!

The Historic Pinecrest is the ideal place during the Christmas season! It's festively adorned with cedar bows, and our stone fireplace will be a perfect place to have story-time with Santa or set up a photo booth. You can fit up to 225 people in our facility, but we can also accommodate much smaller groups. As a bonus, our wood floors mean that you can place the dance floor anywhere!

The first step to creating a memorable Christmas party is to have it in a great venue, but planning for the party can be challenging. We are here to help make your planning easier, and we have six tips to remember while planning your perfect Holiday party!

Pick a Theme

Your theme will set the tone for the entire party, and the ideas are endless. Here are a few themes that could make a really fun and festive event:

  • Murder at the Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
  • Vintage Christmas
  • North Pole Party
  • Pajamas & Pancakes Holiday Party
  • Christmas Movie Costume Party
  • Mingle and Jingle Corporate Party
  • Christmas in WhoVille
  • Merry Mountaintop Christmas Party

Choose the Right Food

When you've chosen a theme, you can then choose fun foods that match. You can find some fun ideas on Historic Pinecrest's Pinterest Account. If you're going with a Grinch party, there are some fun green punch recipes that can be used. Whereas if you are having a pajamas and pancakes party you'll want plenty of fun and different pancakes flavors and toppings. Have fun and get creative with the food - and don't forget to make a lot!

Plan Ahead

Christmas may seem far away, but you want to get a head start on planning. Thankfully some stores are already helping you out on this, since Christmas decor is already lining their shelves. Walmart, Target and Hobby Lobby are good places to get your Holiday decorations now. Make your list, check it twice, and don't forget to be really nice!

Play Some Games

Aside from the food, games are what will help keep the party fun. Pin the heart on the Grinch, ugly sweater contests, white elephant gift exchanges are some ideas to liven up the party. If you're having a Christmas Movie Party, grab some soundbites from the films and have a "Guess that Movie" game. Keep it fun, lighthearted and exciting - and don't forget some awesome prizes!

Don't Forget the Music

Music will help set the Holiday spirit and provide dancing opportunities after dinner. Contact us if you want a live DJ for your party. We can set you up with a professional DJ who can handle live requests and spice up the interaction with your party guests. We also provide a digital sound system with microphones and instrumental inputs when you use our preferred DJ.

Decorate For the Season

Don't be afraid to get creative with the decorations. From the table centerpieces to the stage and everywhere in between, you will have many beautiful options at the Historic Pinecrest. We will help you out with some of your decor options by providing chair covers and bows, table linens, and other decoration options.
